This course explores the histories, cultures, and political contexts of Central America as well as the experiences of Central Americans across the Americas. Drawing from cultural productions, historical analyses, and ethnographic case studies, this course takes a hemispheric approach to center Central America. Each country in Central America will have its own focus week, followed by a conversation on immigration and Central Americans in our contemporary moment.
